NORCO, Calif. (KABC) -- dramatic surveillance video shows a Norco liquor store owner using his shotgun to shoot a would-be robber armed with a rifle.

The armed suspect bursts into the business, prompting the owner to fire a single shot from his firearm.

Outside cameras captured the suspect frantically screaming, "My arm was shot off by him! My arm was shot off by him!"

Multiple suspects then flee in a dark-colored SUV, almost leaving a person behind, according to the video.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 2:47 a.m. Sunday at Norco Market & Liquor in the 800 block of Sixth Street. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, four suspects armed with long guns and wearing facial coverings were involved in the attempted robbery.

Authorities say four suspects were later discovered at a hospital, including one with a gunshot wound consistent with a shotgun blast. The three other suspects were discovered inside the suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen by authorities.

The suspects have been identified as Justin Johnson, 22, of Inglewood, Jamar Williams, 27, of Los Angeles, and Davon Broadus, 24, of Las Vegas.

The identity of the injured suspect has not been revealed. The 23-year-old remains in critical but stable condition in the hospital.

Several stolen firearms were allegedly discovered in the suspects' BMW SUV.

Employees and customers are praising the company's owner, Craig, for his prompt action.

When a would-be armed robber burst into Norco Market & Liquor with an AR-15, Craig Cope, 80, opened fire with a shotgun. After being shot in the arm, the suspect fled the store. Cope then suffered a minor heart attack as a result of the ordeal's shock.
